Nokia is working on phone with no need to charge its battery forever

Nokia is working on phone with no need to charge its battery

Nokia reportedly is working on a phone with the latest technology that is claimed to be able to make a phone can survive in standby without needing to be recharged within forever.

This is possible because Nokia tipped to use an ultra-wide band antenna that can capture frequencies ranging from 500 MHz to 10 GHz. This antenna able to capture a variety of signals, ranging from TV signals, radio signals, and cell phone signals. Interestingly, the energy contained in the captured signal is not used for data transmission, but is converted into electrical energy for use by the mobile phone.

Currently, the researchers claimed to have only managed to convert those signals into a 5 milliwatt power alone. But in the near future are planned so that the signal can be converted into a 20 milliwatt power. Power is claimed to be sufficient to supply power to the phone is in standby mode, so it does not need to be recharged forever. As long as the signal is still bersliweran in the air.

Even the researchers claimed to have a long-term targets, which increase the yield to 50 milliwatt power changes. That much power would be enough to charge the phone battery slowly. So that might be in the future, we will not need to charge the phone by way of plug it into the charger or put it on the wireless charger.

Mobile phones with the technology itself is claimed to be able to be on the market within the next 3-5 years.

Microsoft's New Voice Recognition Technology on Windows Phone

Voice recognition technology has been implanted in Windows Phone by Microsoft since the OS debuted in the first time. From time to time, these technologies get updates and performance improvements. As a Microsoft TechFest event held earlier this month, the researchers demonstrate a new feature known as 'streaming mode'. This feature allows Windows Phone users to search when they are talking.

At first glance this feature is similar to the one in Android, but the method used by Bing to be one step ahead. This feature has the ability to display search results even if the user has not stopped talking.

Not yet known exactly when Microsoft will deliver this capability on Windows Phone. Of speculation, the possibility of these features will be present in the updated Windows Phone Blue by the of this year.

Google Preparing the Virtual Brain Technology for better Voice Recognition System

Posted by Faizal Dahan at 2:59 PM 0 Comments
google brain

The engineers at Google have done the work to create a software that simulates the connected cells in the human brain that are independently capable of communicating with each other and learn without the need for input from human users. Virtual brain will now be prepared to make Google products more intelligent, with the introduction of sound to be the first service to benefit from these technologies.

Vincent Vanhoucke, Google's voice recognition system developer, said that the virtual brain technology has resulted in 20 to 25 percent improvement in the ability of voice recognition software to identify words correctly. Site Technology Review speculated that the products will come from Google as a car that runs itself and glasses-based augmented reality technology will benefit from the virtual brain in the future.

New technology to turn on smartphone by using voice command

Nuance Communications, the company of developer sound analysis software is developing a chip for mobile devices that allows users to access the smartphone without touching it. The user will simply give a voice command to access their smartphone. Remarkably, voice commands can still run when the smartphone is in sleep mode.

Vlad Sejnoha, Chief Technology Officer of Nuance Communications said the company is working with several chip manufacturers are aggressively making chip low power or low-power.

This device will also be doing a more personalized orders, such as checking the weather or looking for a restaurant. Sejnoha target chip will be completed in one to two years.

A new JavaScript technology in Firefox 18

JavaScript is widely used on various websites, and Mozilla Firefox 18 is one of them. Mozilla team claims that a new JavaScript technology in the latest release of Firefox will be helping load the site faster 26 percent.

The new technology will be a part of Firefox 18 is IonMonkey which is a compiler just-in-time (JIT). Previous Firefox has been using other compilers such as TraceMonkey and JagerMonkey but for this new JIT compiler, Mozilla prefers to take a new approach.

IonMonkey first converts JavaScript to intermediate representation (IR), runs various algorithms to optimize IR IRs and ultimately translate into machine code. Basically IonMonkey see a big picture of the code and run a global optimization.

As a result, a page with JavaScript can be loaded quickly in Firefox 18, when compared to Firefox 17. But we have to be patient because they have to wait until 18 November to be able to get the beta version of Firefox 18.

flexible battery

Flexible display technology will likely be old news when I hear the presence of a flexible battery technology.  World smartphone seems to be getting closer to release phones that given the current flexible battery that can give energy to phone has been developed. This work was developed by Professor Keon Jae Lee from the Korean Advanced Institute Of Science And Technology.

flexible battery that is said to be successfully developed to keep the power if it is folded or bent without reducing the power that has been saved. Besides lithium batteries can be recharged can also be used for a variety of other devices or mobile phones for example only tablet in the future. For those who are interested can directly see the video below

Show Hacker NFC technology on Android and Nokia Easy Hijacked

Posted by Faizal Dahan at 1:08 PM 0 Comments
NFC technology

A new technology is embedded into the operating system Android and MeeGo it can be easily hijacked by hackers. A researcher in a way to practice the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas.
By exploiting security flaws in standard Near Field Communication (NFC), a hacker named Charlie Miller smartphone can take over control of the handsets made by Samsung and Nokia. The attack works by placing a phone within a few centimeters of a chip the size of a quarter, or by tapping into mobile phones that have NFC. Code on the handset is transmitted to the target phone to move through the air, then run the file or to open a web page in which there is a malicious program, or in other cases can be invade into the operating system itself.
This exploitation is practiced on a Nexus S device that uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread and the Galaxy Nexus running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. While not known if using Android Jelly Bean. In addition to Android devices, the demo is also done on the Nokia N9.
NFC technology is a feature that allows people to share files, business cards, website links quickly, or make a Bluetooth connection with PC, speakers or other devices. When the NFC is enabled, all files submitted will be automatically accepted, and this makes the malicious code can more easily enter the target device. However, it should NFC only runs when there are other devices that are attached or with a very close distance.
'NFC can be very rewarding but can also be misused, "said Miller. "These findings open you more to think about NFC technology, 'he added.
